Workflow

How it works

  1. Upload PDF

Drop a vector PDF drawing set. A 52-page CD set loads in about 11 seconds.

  2. Mark walls + count + tiles

Set scale → click along each wall → press Enter to close → pick the wall type.

  3. Export CSV

Every line cites its AS 3700 / NCC clause, ready for a QS to review.

Coverage

What it takes off

Masonry

Brick veneer / cavity / single skin, wall ties, weep holes, lintels, mortar mix.

Wet areas

Shower, WC, kitchen — AS 3740 skirting upturn auto-added at 0.15 m.

Surface finishes

Tile / timber / vinyl / carpet — 8 pattern types incl. herringbone, hex, brick bond.

Openings

Door + window schedule auto-built from your hand-typed list or paste.

Concrete

Slabs, stairs, columns, hubs — area × thickness, AS 3600 rebate / cutout support.

Measurement CSV

Split by trade, every line cites its clause. Not for ordering — needs QS review.

Who made it

Built on site, not in an office

I'm a builder in Australia. TuLiang started because takeoff on real residential jobs was either a $5k/year QS suite I did not need, or a spreadsheet that lost an hour per drawing set. So I built the tool I wanted on site: open a PDF, mark what is actually there, get numbers that cite their AS 3700 / NCC clause — then hand it to the QS to check. — Made by an Australian builder · 1.5 years on the tools

Questions

FAQ

What if the takeoff is wrong?

Every formula prints its AS 3700 / NCC clause. The output is a draft measurement — always have a QS or estimator review it before procurement.

Where does my drawing data live?

Sydney-region Fly.io servers (Australia). Each user's projects are private. Nothing is installed on your machine — it all runs in the browser.

Can I use a scanned PDF?

No. Scanned PDFs can't be measured accurately — ask the consultant for the original vector PDF.

How do I get access?

TuLiang is invite-only during the private beta. Email support@tuliang.online and a one-to-one access code will be issued — then open it in your browser, no install needed.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes — open it in the iPad browser, no install needed. A native iPad app is in the works.

Results must be verified by the user before procurement, pricing, or contract use. TuLiang is a measurement tool — quantities are geometric and need QS / estimator review.
